On Friday, February 18th, 2022 FISH TRAPPE ROAD was released to Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare.

Fish Trappe Road, a beautiful Gray, who won the 2016 Dwyer Stakes, and has 63  races under his belt, is now officially retired! The last 18 races of his career were are Hiprodromo Camarero, where he changed hands a few times and steadily declined in performance. Many racing fans shared their deep concern for his welfare across Twitter, and other social media channels; begging for their beloved Fish Trappe Road to be retired from racing before a catastrophic injury. Thankfully, he is safe!

Fish Trappe Road's story includes thousands of miles logged traveling between 13 racetracks and changing hands more times than any horse ever should. His last stateside race was at Mountaineer, under trainer Alexis Cordero-Lopez and owned by Julio L. Sandiford, when he was privately sold, as an 8-year-old, and was sent to Puerto Rico in 2020.

As his career declined, Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare started working to get him retired and back to the mainland. We are thrilled to share that he has been retired, and will be heading to Connecticut and joining our herd at Racing for Home.
