As a horse owner, it's essential to properly groom your horse to ensure its health and happiness. Grooming not only helps to keep your horse looking their best, but it also helps to keep them clean and comfortable, as well as prevent potential health issues. We'll walk you through our favorite grooming products and what they're used for.

Here's a list of our favorite supplies to have on hand:

  1. Curry Comb: This comb helps to loosen dirt and debris from your horse's coat. It should be used in circular motions to massage the muscles and stimulate natural oils. Junior Black Rubber Curry Comb - The Farm Store

  2. Body Brush: A body brush is used to remove dirt and debris that has been loosened by the curry comb. It should be used in long, sweeping motions, starting at the neck and working your way down to the tail.

  3. Mane and Tail Comb: This comb helps to detangle your horse's mane and tail. Start at the bottom and work your way up slowly to prevent pulling and breaking the hair.

  4. Hoof Pick: A hoof pick is used to clean out the horse's hooves, which helps to prevent infection and other issues. You can find our favorite one here.

  5. Towels: You'll need towels to dry your horse after a bath or to wipe away sweat or dirt. We LOVE microfiber towels for this.

  6. Fly Spray: Fly spray helps to keep pesky bugs away from your horse and prevent bites and irritation.

  7. Shampoo and Conditioner: If you're planning on giving your horse a bath, you'll need horse-specific shampoo and conditioner to keep their coat healthy and shiny.

💡Brush Cleaning Hack: Use a white vinegar and water solution to clean and disinfect your horse's brushes and combs. This can help to prevent the spread of bacteria and keep your grooming tools clean and hygienic.
