Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare Welcomes AAEP Leadership During Puerto Rico Visit 

Rio Grande, Puerto Rico — Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare (CTA) was honored to welcome distinguished representatives from the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) to its facility in January while they were visiting Puerto Rico for the 27th Annual Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare Symposium.

During their visit, CTA hosted Dr. Stuart Brown, Dr. Sarah Reuss, Dr. Ashley Morgan, Dr. Angela Blackwell and Dr. Raul Brass along side others. The group visited the farm on two occasions during the week, taking time to learn more about CTA’s mission and the work being done to support retired Thoroughbred racehorses in Puerto Rico.

Dr. Stuart Brown has long been a strong advocate for equine welfare and has been a supporter of Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare’s efforts for many years. Their visit provided an opportunity to discuss the horses currently in CTA’s care, those that have successfully transitioned to new homes, and the organization’s plans for future projects aimed at expanding aftercare and welfare initiatives in the Caribbean racing community.

The visit also created meaningful dialogue about the continued importance of collaboration between local industry leaders and international organizations committed to improving the welfare and long-term care of Thoroughbred racehorses.

Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare is deeply grateful for the time, insight, and support shared by these respected leaders in equine veterinary medicine and welfare.

As CTA continues to grow, visits such as these reinforce the organization’s commitment to transparency, education, and the advancement of responsible aftercare for Thoroughbreds both on and off the racetrack.

Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare Recibe a Líderes de la AAEP Durante su Visita a Puerto Rico

Río Grande, Puerto Rico — Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare (CTA) tuvo el honor de recibir a distinguidos representantes de la American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) en sus instalaciones en enero, mientras se encontraban visitando Puerto Rico con motivo del 27º Simposio Anual del Caribe de Thoroughbred Aftercare.

Durante su visita, CTA recibió al Dr. Stuart Brown, Dr. Sarah Reuss, Dr. Ashley Morgan, Dr. Angela Blackwell y Dr. Raúl Brass, junto con otros profesionales. El grupo visitó la finca en dos ocasiones durante la semana, tomando el tiempo para conocer más sobre la misión de CTA y el trabajo que se está realizando para apoyar a los caballos Pura Sangre retirados de las carreras en Puerto Rico.

El Dr. Stuart Brown ha sido durante muchos años un firme defensor del bienestar equino y ha apoyado los esfuerzos de Caribbean Thoroughbred Aftercare por largo tiempo. Su visita brindó la oportunidad de conversar sobre los caballos que actualmente están bajo el cuidado de CTA, aquellos que ya han sido reubicados exitosamente en nuevos hogares, así como los planes y nuevos proyectos de la organización para el futuro, enfocados en ampliar las iniciativas de bienestar y programas de retiro dentro de la comunidad hípica del Caribe.

La visita también permitió un diálogo significativo sobre la importancia de la colaboración continua entre líderes de la industria local y organizaciones internacionales comprometidas con mejorar el bienestar y el cuidado a largo plazo de los caballos Pura Sangre.
