CTA Needs Sanctuary Sponsors!

2 Minutes Read

Sponsoring a horse from CTA is a great way to help horses and our organization. These horses have given their all to their owners, connections, and racing fans who love and enjoy the sport of kings; and we believe they deserve to live out their days on our farm, enjoying retirement.  Sponsorships fees are 100% tax deductible  πŸŽ‰

Currently, CTA has (3) sanctuary horses looking for a monthly sponsor. These horses are considered to non ridden horses, and/or have piroplasmosis (a tick-born disease endemic to Puerto Rico, once horses have this they can not leave the island).

We have been unable to find adopters that are willing to take on the expense and responsibility of horses that can not be ridden or go on to other sporting careers. We currently do not have funding or much additional space for these horses so we are hoping we can find kind humans who may want to sponsor all or a part of their monthly care.

2009 PR Bred with 55 starts and $375,727 in earnings

Don Carlos R. LOVES to play in the mud! He has quite a bit of racing wear and tear; fractured sesamoid, and bowed tendon, and he needs corrective shoeing every 4 weeks.

Tito Discount

Tito
2008 PR Bred with 72 starts and $25,086 in earnings

Unfortunately, Tito is positive for Piroplasmosis and was returned to CTA in July of 2018.
Tito has a large slab fracture on his LF knee.  He is just the sweetest and a very dear companion to Don Carlos R.

Master Charlie

master charlie
2016 FL Bred with 14 starts and $17,949 in earnings

Charlie was abandoned at the track and sent to be euthanized when CTA stepped in July of 2021.  Charlie has a bone cyst on his LF pastern which will not improve.  Charlie is very laid back and good with other horses.  Charlie does like to play in the water 🚰 trough.
